Ziferblat severs ties with creative team after National Selection

The group Ziferblat, which participated in the National Selection for Eurovision, unexpectedly terminated its collaboration with the creative team responsible for its visual style. This was revealed by the collective's stylist Oleg-Rodion Shurigin-Grekalov in the podcast «СучЦукрМуз» (SukhTukrMuz).

According to him, the decision to end the joint work was made by the label—and it was done, to put it mildly, in a rather incorrect manner.

«Никакой внятной коммуникации не было» (There was no coherent communication whatsoever)

The stylist noted that neither he nor the group's music video director Ilya Dutsyk, with whom he had been collaborating, were given any explanation for the split. In his view, the creative team was simply "pushed aside" after the National Selection concluded, and this was accompanied by complete silence from the label.

«С лейбла была очень странная реакция. Именно с креативной командой они поступили не очень красиво. И до сих пор никакой адекватной коммуникации не произошло», — заявил Шуригин-Грекалов. (The reaction from the label was very strange. They treated the creative team in a rather unkind way. And to this day, no adequate communication has taken place), Shurigin-Grekalov stated.

It was this creative team that stood behind the visual design of the group's key music videos: «Земля» (Zemlya), «Place I Call Home», «Bird of Pray» and others. The stylist and director built the collective's image over several projects—until the label unexpectedly changed course.

National Selection without major scandals? It still happened

Although this year's National Selection passed relatively calmly and without bright scandals on live broadcast, the story with Ziferblat shows that passions boil just as intensely behind the scenes. It is just that instead of open conflicts, there is subtle and not always honest "under-the-table play".
