Eurovision participants accused of plagiarism again

An anonymous user sent admins of several Telegram channels a video accusing the song FIINKA of plagiarism. According to them, the track suspiciously resembles a song from Latin America. Notably, the video was posted by a new account with only three posts. In addition to the video about FIINKA, it also contains posts about other artists — specifically, ENLEO.

Automated checks — protection against plagiarism
Experts remind that songs submitted for Eurovision participation undergo thorough plagiarism checks using automated systems. If such a service approves a track, there should be no grounds for complaints.

History of plagiarism accusations at Eurovision
Accusations of borrowing musical ideas are not a new story for Eurovision. 

Every year, viewers and bloggers publish reviews comparing contest entries with well-known hits. However, there have been no cases of disqualification for plagiarism so far, precisely due to the strict checking of tracks at the selection stage.

Noise around Kultura or just another speculation?
It is hard to say whether the plagiarism accusation will become a serious threat to Kultura, or if it is just another attempt to attract attention. Eurovision contest rules, based on copyright checks, currently remain on the side of the performers.
